Is my artwork AI generated?

Short answer….NO!

I have been a seasoned illustrator my entire life, long before generative AI showed its face. I put in the time and effort into learning how to make art in a plethora of different ways. My methods of creating artwork stem from building a full composition before I start illustrating.

This method of sketching is a mixture of reference bashing and personal drawing (using actual stylus to screen sketching). I don’t use this method for every illustration, but when I do it’s kind of like building a Frankenstein composition and then I start to draw. While im doing this phase, I have sparingly used AI generated sections to build out missing parts that I didnt have a reference for. I will always start with sourcing royalty free images from PEXELS (one of my absolute favorite places to get reference photos) to see if I can find a good model that fits the image I see in my head. After i have a bunch of good options, Ill start building them out and seeing what works and what doesn’t (hip placement from one model, left arm from one, right arm from another). Now, let's say I end up running into an issue where I can’t find a good source for gloves in the position that im looking for. To see if that position would work, I’ll use a generative glove and start playing around with the angles and morphing it into something to see if it works. Once I have a decent idea for the composition, I start my sketching. After sketching, I start finalizing my new line work. I then begin painting in my solid colors. Then i start working on the shadows and so-on so-on.

This ultimately means that I do 100% of the actual illustrating, linework, coloring, shadows, effects, etc. 95% of my references are from real images and/or pieces from real images. Additionally, I regularly use “Magic Poser Pro” to make references for tricky poses.

I will have many process breakdowns and videos that will show what I’m talking about on my About page.

How do you make your merchandise?

My merchandise is made using a Print-on-demand (POD) service called Printful.

I choose this method of production because I wanted a way to be able to provide high quality products while still being able to make the products I wanted. I absolutely love Printful and everything they stand for! Millions of individuals and businesses use them all over the globe, and I’m happy to be one of them!

This method of printing merch allows for zero waste and the ability to get a product created specifically for a client/customer and shipped directly.

I have extensively reviewed and tested Printful’s quality and I have never been disappointed! Personally, I would love to make each of my products myself, but at this current place in my life I would rather provide quality products and receive a lower profit margin than to give mediocre quality with a higher profit margin.

If you are at all curious about how Printful works, feel free to check out their website! (Links on how they work and what they stand for are provided at bottom of the page!)

I am not directly affiliated or sponsored by them, even though I would love to be! I am just a huge fan!

Returns?

If you are not satisfied with your product for any reason, I will gladly work with you to get things fixed! Sometimes things aren’t perfect and I will gladly work with you to fix whatever may happen!

I do not personally have any direct affiliations or control over returns, but because I am the seller I will diligently help as best as I can!

It would pain me deeply to have you buy a product of mine and not have it meet my expectations and Printfuls (or any service I use to create my merchandise)!

Below is a direct link to Printful’s return policy! We will figure out a way together to make sure things are made right!

Printful’s Solution

The apparel industry faces a sustainability problem, with overproduction as one of the main contributors. A staggering 21% of produced are unsold and end up in landfills without ever being worn.

While Printful is part of the fashion world, they take measures to be part of the solution. They only make a product after a customer buys it, avoiding excess stock and reducing textile waste. They also invest in high-quality materials and best-in-the-industry equipment, so the result is top-tier quality products that can be used for a long time.
