1000 Sword Wielding Raccoons is a multi-media project that consists of an army of raccoons deciding to ban together to put an end to humankind’s relentless atrocities and evil ways. Every raccoon has a personality and a mission within the furry regime. The project is a combination of music, artwork, merch, and comics. Join their revolution or bow before the Trash Brigade!!

I started 1000 SWR to be able to make music and comic inspired art about raccoons! I’m a musician (drummer, guitarist and vocalist) and I wanted a solo band project that fit the style of music that I love (Death, Thrash, Hardcore & Slam Metal).

So with the help of my best friend, I put together this band and started making music. I will be continuously putting out music, art and merch to continue their story! So stay tuned for more!

All the music is created by myself, with help from my best friend to help me record everything at his personal studio.

All lyrics, drums, vocals, guitars (besides solos because I’m missing fingers and can’t solo to save my life; so my best friend is laying down the solos), etc are done by me!

I’m a huge fan of metal music so it was a no-brainer that this project would be a metal band. The music genre consists of a mixture of death, thrash, hardcore, and slam metal. The bands that I love that helped influence my sound and writing are Dying Fetus, Hatebreed, Nails, Toxic Holocaust, Municipal Waste, etc.

As I was working on the first song for the project (Trash Pandas Unite), I knew that I needed artwork for the concept. Given the style of music, I wanted to mix that thrashy comic style with brutal music; kind of like a cute but serious play on styles. While I was making the singles artwork, I wanted to make a lyrical video for the song.

So, I decided to make a multiple page comic book that I can use for the visuals for the lyrical music video. While making it I noticed how fun it was and wanted to explore the idea further.

Now, im in the process of making a full fledge comic book of the raccoons lives, how they meet, what their role in the revolution is, and everything inbetween.

Now that the first single is done, I plan on releasing songs with comic art to tell their stories. Once I have a full story, I’m going to release it as a comic book!

Raccoons are my favorite animal and I love them dearly! So I wouldn’t want anything else besides my goofy metal ferocious furballs to showcase this idea. Trust me, I’ve thought of many things but it all clicked when I wanted to mix crazy raccoons with metal music & comic book inspired stylized artwork!

The name “Sword Wielding Raccoons” was the first thing that immediately popped into my head when i was going over what I wanted this music project / band to be.

First off, I’m a super silly person, so there was no way I was going to do a music / band project without it being stupid and fun conceptually. I already knew, while listening back to the demo riffs that we were laying down, that I wanted raccoons to be the main focus (given that they’re my fav animal).

Then I wanted to add an extra dumb but awesome element to the story and concept. Something in the realm of a B-rated horror movie mixed with that D.R.I. type thrash anti-establishment theme. This melded perfectly into the theme of a bunch of raccoons deciding to get revenge on shitty humans and take over (Planet of the Apes but Raccoons / and more funny).

So I decided to do 100 Sword Wielding Raccoons!……but I ran into a problem. While I was designing the font/typeface/logo, I realized that the number “100” didnt fit well in any of the layouts that I created. So…..I decided to make it even crazier by making it 1000 so that the numbers worked well with the logo I made. Thus, 1000 Sword Wielding Raccoons was born!

For the upcoming future, I plan on making a bunch of music (including singles, covers and albums), full comic books, and merchandise of these furry guys!

I dont ever plan on touring professionally with this project, because it’s mainly me, but only the future can tell how this all works out!

Just jamming to the music is what inspires me to keep going! So please look forward to more soon!
